A Members Story # 5

A Members adventure while shopping dressed
as her Feminine self...
........................................................................................

I had an interesting experience the other day.  Since I was on vacation, I decided to go shopping as Ellen at one of my favorite places during the day.  Being a CD, sometimes this may be a little risky, but I dressed casually and tried to blend in.  I wore jeans, a brown sweater, heels, red hair, not too much makeup or jewelry, and a long wool coat.  I also decided to wear my glasses.

I arrived at the huge Salvation Army store in Lancaster around noon.  The store was packed because it was family day and almost everything was 50% off the regular low prices except for the blue tags, which were for goods that had just arrived.  I grabbed a shopping cart; put my purse and coat in it and to a casual observer I was just like any other woman shopping.  After a while I had accumulated some items in my cart.  Half a dozen pairs of jeans, a couple dresses, skirts and tops, and some shoes.  I wore hose under my jeans and tried on shoes until I found some that would fit, two pairs of sexy platform heels.  In another department I tried on a man’s leather jacket for only 20$ but it was too small.

While I was shopping I saw a number of guys looking through the dresses and lingerie.  From the way they were looking around to see if anyone was watching them, I think they may have been CDs.  I didn’t make any attempts to talk with them because I didn’t want to blow my cover.

I took my findings and went to the dressing rooms where I found a large line.  One woman was complaining about the kids in the dressing rooms that were taking so much time and I cautiously agreed with her.  I know my voice doesn’t sound very feminine, but I tried.  Several ladies tried to talk with me and I got into a conversation about the best consignment shops.  One young lady near me looked through my basket and pulled out a black ice mini dress with crossed skinny straps.  She exclaimed, “ Ohhhhh I like this, hon. Can I have it if it doesn’t fit you?”

Finally I got to the dressing room and found that almost everything fit and then I paid for the purchases.  I found two dresses, the mini I have described and a 2pc outfit, which included a leopard top with a long black velvet skirt.  I also purchased several other tops and the two pair of shoes.  All in all I had spent less than $25 and had a lot of fun.  Nobody gave me a hard time and I don’t think I was perceived as a man dressed like a woman but was accepted as just another shopper.   I think most CDs dress up too much when they go out shopping and they are easily read as a man in a dress.  So dress casually and go out and have fun.

Comment:

This members adventure goes to show that it is possible to go out and about dressed and have a good time and not have to worry about being spotted or have people pointing their fingers at you. As this members says, many CD's go out dressed like they're going out to a night club and then bingo, your spotted because you stand out in the crowd or in the store. So, the moral of this story is if you want to go out dressed and not be read you have to blend in and dress like the real girls do. You will be surprised with the out come and you will feel more at ease.  Try it, you'll love it .....
